PE/Sports Premium
At Canon Johnson we understand the vital importance that sport and exercise can make to our pupil’s lives. Every child within our school is given at least two hours of PE each week through specialist PE teachers that work with the school, or teaching staff that have been trained by specialists. We also offer a wide range of extra-curricular clubs for pupils to take part in.
At Canon Johnson, through PE and Extra-curricular clubs, we aim to
- improve fitness, health and well-being.
- promote active participation and lifelong learning.
- allow each child to fulfil their potential.
The school receives additional funds to support the development of Physical Education and Sport in school (Sport Premium). This money is in addition to the curriculum funding for PE and Sport from the main school budget.
With the Sport Premium funding, the school seek to improve not only the expertise of the staff in delivering PE but also offer a wide range of clubs to support PE and well-being, resources to enable high quality PE teaching and that all pupils fulfil the National Curriculum requirements for all areas of physical education.
