KEY STAGE 2
Teacher - Miss K Pollard
Supported by Mrs J Ott and Mrs T Crolla
Welcome to Year 6!
We are very excited at the prospect of teaching your child. Mrs Ott, Mrs Crolla and I are looking forward to a positive and enriching year and we will ensure your child has a very enjoyable experience.
Please see below for some useful information...
Your child’s P.E. lesson is on a Tuesday . Please make sure your child has a full PE kit (plain blue shorts, white T-shirt and pumps – with their name on everything.) It is important that your child wears the correct P.E. kit as they may be asked to represent the school for specific sporting activities and visit other schools.
This is offered to your child to reinforce their learning. Therefore, we think homework can be really valuable. Your child will receive homework on a Friday and we ask for it to be returned on the following Friday. Due to this being their final year at Primary School, we feel it is so important that your child completes their homework, as this is in preparation for their transition to secondary school.
Your child will be provided with a school reading book which they should read at home. In class we will be working on complex extracts, in preparation for the end of year SATs. Please return the book everyday so that your child can continue to read in school.
Each child also has an individual login for their 'Reading Plus' account - please ensure your child accesses this extremely valuable resource as often as possible!
We’re really looking forward to teaching your child this year and we are sure your child will enjoy their time in year 6. Any questions please come and see us...
